Gate paper is having two type of questions. 1) MCQs (Multiple Choice Questions) 2) NAT (Numerical Answer Type) In GATE, it is important how you deal with your MCQs because it is questions where you can lose your earned marks also. This queries carries negative markings, so be careful before answering. These are tips to solve MCQs in GATE only. 1) If you know the answer correctly, then check validity of your answer. If time permits, then recheck calculations because if you are wrong somewhere then you will lose both, your efforts with time and marks also. 2) If you don't know answer, then don't guess blindly. Just follow these steps. i) Try to eliminate options. ii) If you can eliminate more than two options, then and only go with blind guess. If you can't eliminate two options from four, then don't attempt questions. 3) If you don't know method to solve, then take conditions given in question and try if you can eliminate any of options which doesn't follow condi

To get a good score it is important to know how to tackle with NAT questions. You can not win with only answering Multiple Choice Questions. Here are tips for NAT questions. 1) In NAT questions, if you don't know method to solve, then try to guess answer. Try to guess answer in logical manner with smart way.  Just say if some one asking you positive prime number less than 10 and you don't know answer, but you have given range in question itself. You can atleast write any number between 1 to 10. 2) Atleast type/answer the NAT questions based on logical range of thing asked in quetion. Eg. If they are asking probability of something then you know basic thing it will be in between 0 to 1. Then you have range in which you can answer. You will just have to click on calculator icon, and calculator will be displayed on your screen board.  You can only take help of mouse and not key board. So practice accordingly. This write up is trying to answer 'How to prepare for GATE ? ' So, here are some important tips from my side which can help you for better study. 1) There are two important thing you need to know before starting your preparation for any exams. First one is proper syllabus. You can have printed copy of syllabus. You can paste this printed copy on somewhere, where you can see it easily anytime you want during starting of any topic. Before starting any topic from any book, please see syllabus first, and think under which topic or chapter this is going to help me. Second important thing is, from where you have to study each topic and at how depth you have to study each topic. There are many topics in every exams,  from where majority of questions were asked. You can refer previous year paper analysis for that. You can see previous year questions, so that you can expect what kind of questions and at what depth you have to prepare. You can make list of important topics for exams whic
